Day 1: Zurich/Geneva Airport - Lucerne

Welcome to the world of nature. Lucerne, the gateway to central Switzerland, sited on Lake Lucerne, is embedded within an impressive mountainous panorama. Thanks to its attractions, its souvenir and watch shops, the beautiful lakeside setting and the nearby excursion mountains of the Rigi, Pilatus and Stanserhorn, the town is a destination for many travel groups and individuals on their journey through central Switzerland. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 2: Lucerne - Mount Titlis

Excursion to Mount Titlis – at 3020 m / 10’000 ft. From Lucerne the train takes you to the mountain monestry village Engelberg where you board a gondola which takes you up to the Trübsee. You continue your trip by another gondola to Stand and finally the first revolving Titlis Rotair cablecar takes you up to Mount Titlis. For a spectacular, close-up insight into a glacier, visit the glacier cave and ride the Ice Flyer chairlift. And get your thrills on the TITLIS Cliff Walk, a spectacular Suspension bridge at a height of 3041 m/10'000 ft. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 3: Lucerne - Brünig Pass - Interlaken

Rail journey over the Brünig Pass to Interlaken lies in the Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The vacation destination, which is presided over by the three mighty mountains, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, is the starting point for numerous activities. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 4: Interlaken - Grindelwald - Jungfraujoch – Lauterbrunnen

Excursion to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. The Jungfrau Railway takes you up to the Jungfraujoch – at 3454 m / 11’333 ft the highest railway station in Europe. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 5: Interlaken - Zurich - Salzburg

Ride on the Rail jet to Salzburg. Salzburg is a worthwhile holiday destination for lovers of art and culture. In Salzburg, you can climb every mountain, ski down the rest and still have time to wile away the hours at a cozy beer garden. Overnight in Salzburg.

Day 6: Salzburg - Obersalzberg - Huttenstein Castle - Lake Mondsee

Salt Mines
Meet your guide in central Salzburg and hop aboard your coach. Venture out to Obersalzberg, where the salt mines sit below the site of Hitler's historic mountainside retreat. Slip on traditional mining wear and descend into the underground world of the grottos, dating back 450 years. Hear about the mines' rich history as you sail along the salt lake with your guide and take a scenic train ride. After ascending back to the surface, journey to the charming town of Berchtesgaden to wander the local shops and streets. Then head back to central Salzburg to purchase lunch before taking off on your next adventure.
Austrian Lakes and Mountains
After refueling with some food, enjoy a drive through the stunning scenery of the Austrian Alps. Visit the Lake District, considered one of the country’s most beautiful regions and admire the historic Fuschl Castle. Once home to Austrian royalty, the castle now functions as an extravagant hotel. Continue to St Wolfgang to check out the unique Gothic church. Pause to purchase a beverage at the White Horse Inn Hotel before sailing across Lake Wolfgang on a scenic boat ride. Debark at St Gilgen, hopping back on your coach and passing Huttenstein Castle and Lake Mondsee. Your day trip will conclude with transportation back to central Salzburg.

Day 7: Salzburg - Vienna

Train transfer to Vienna. Rest of the day enjoy your Vienna Big Bus 1 day ticket which is valid from the time of first use. Enjoy the option of two routes as you pass all the capital city’s must-see attractions. If you’d like to sit back, relax and watch the world go by, stay on board for the 1.5-hour loop.

Audio commentary is available to provide a richer understanding of each major landmark that you pass. To discover Vienna on foot, hop off at any of the stops. The Schönbrunn Blue Route runs every 30-30 minutes from 10am and buses for the Red Route run in every 15-20 minutes from 9:30am. Soak up the imperial architecture, the blue waters of the Danube or check out the delectable cake shops and cafes. See the former residence of the Habsburg dynasty at the Hofburg Palace, and have your camera on hand to capture St Stephen’s Cathedral. Day 8: Vienna - Wachau Valley - Danube River - Spitz - Burgruine Dürnstein - Melk Abbey

Today your your day trip will begin in central Vienna, where you’ll meet up with your guide and hop aboard your coach. Watch the scenery change from the capital’s bustling streets to the picturesque landscape of the Austrian countryside. Journey through the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley, a 24-mile (39-km) stretch of the Danube River. Running between the towns of Krems and Melk, the area is celebrated for its blend of natural and historical beauty, dotted with vineyards, wine villages, forestland, fortresses and castles. Hear about the history of the area from your guide as you travel. Stop at the medieval castle ruins of Burgruine Dürnstein before heading to Spitz, where you’ll hop aboard a boat. Enjoy a stunning ride along the Danube, passing the wine town of Krems. Arrive in Melk for a visit to the Benedictine Melk Abbey, which overlooks the river. First established in the 11th century, the Baroque-style abbey is adorned in bright frescoes and has housed monks for over 900 years. Purchase lunch in town before hopping back in your coach for a smooth return to Vienna.
